landmarks w-fl

The Landmarks project reimagines a series of sites across West Flanders as places where heritage, landscape, and recreation come together. From the wooded valleys of Bulskampveld and the historic Sterrebos to the former railway line of the Trimaarzate, each intervention strengthens the link between people and their environment.

By introducing subtle yet powerful architectural gestures — bridges, paths, viewing points, and gathering spaces — the project connects fragmented landscapes and creates new opportunities for walking, cycling, and leisure. Local history, ecology, and everyday use form the basis of these designs, ensuring that the landmarks are both rooted in place and open to future generations.
