The Campusplan Merelbeke sets out a long-term transformation of the UGent Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The masterplan brings structure to a site that has grown organically over many decades. By reorganising the campus into clear clusters for research, education, clinics and animal housing, the plan strengthens daily operations and improves the quality of work, study and care.

Outdated buildings will be renewed or replaced, while new stables, laboratories and clinical facilities are added where needed. A clear mobility framework separates internal circulation from public access, and a strengthened green structure creates a healthier and more coherent outdoor environment. The result is a campus that can grow intelligently and remain resilient over time.
